Heading into winter, New Zealanders face higher energy prices as their household usage increases to keep their homes warm and comfortable. This higher energy usage can also place pressure on the grid.
EECA's Gen Less platform is focused on pragmatic, timely advice for households who need information and support to help keep their energy bills down this winter.
The advice includes low- and no-cost actions that will help Kiwi households save up to $600 annually.
The hub also includes information on further support that is available for those that need it.
Why is this important?
EECA research shows:
- 83% of people are concerned about rising energy costs.
- 31% of homes are on an off-peak plan, but 56% of those don’t take advantage of them.
- 45% of people say they lack confidence in understanding and managing energy use.
- 58% of people want to know how to improve energy efficiency.
